Ballroom Dance -- FREE!

During 2011 a free ballroom dance is being offered every month (including summer) on the third Sunday of every month from 5-7 PM in the "Loft" upstairs in the Reach Center, 25th and Harris in Eugene. The play list will include the standard ballroom dances plus a few blues and other dances.

Remember: these dance hours are offered FREE OF CHARGE. There will be no donation basket either.

Helmut Plant

was born and raised in Munich, Germany, where he learned most of his ballroom dances. After he emigrated to this country he served in the US Army for two years (including half a year in Korea). Thanks to the GI Bill he was able to attend college in West Virginia and get an undergraduate degree (B.A.). He did his graduate work in Cincinnati, OH (M.A., Ph.D.).

He moved to Eugene and taught German at the UO. While here he took courses in international folk dancing, more ballroom dancing and Argentine tango. He enjoys dancing, including Zydeco and Cajun. He also likes to read and hike.
